The Game LLC, Abu Dhabi’s first and only regulated lottery operator, has officially launched the UAE Lottery, providing residents with opportunities to win up to Dh100m (โฌ25.2m).
Licensed by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) in July of this year, the UAE Lottery aims to combine excitement with responsible play. Players can access the lottery at www.theuaelottery.ae.
The lottery offers a diverse array of games for participants aged 18 and older, with tickets available on the official website, theuaelottery.ae. The inaugural live draw, set for 14 December, will showcase a wide range of prizes.
The highlight of the event is the Lucky Day grand prize of Dh100m, complemented by seven Lucky Chance IDs, each guaranteed to win Dh100,000. Participants can also try their luck with scratch cards offering payouts ranging from Dh50,000 to Dh1m.
How it works
To enter the Lucky Day draw, participants select seven numbers across two categories. Six numbers, representing “lucky days,” are chosen from a range of 1 to 31, while one “lucky month” is picked from numbers 1 to 12. Each ticket purchased not only qualifies for the grand prize but also automatically enters the buyer into the Lucky Chance draws.
Live draws will be held bi-weekly on Saturdays at 8:30 PM local time, providing regular opportunities for participants to win. Tickets are priced to cater to a broad audience, ensuring accessibility to a wide demographic.
The Game emphasized its commitment to global standards and ethical gaming practices in an announcement about the launch. According to Bishop Woosley, Director of Lottery Operations, the mission of the UAE Lottery is to inspire residents to dream big while fostering an environment of responsible play.
The evaluation process conducted by the GCGRA ensures the lottery’s operations meet stringent regulatory requirements. Among these are fairness in game mechanics and transparency in winner selection.
The GCGRA underscored its role in safeguarding consumer interests, stating that the issuance of the operational certificate followed a thorough review process. The authority reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining strict oversight of commercial gaming activities, prioritizing fairness, accountability, and consumer protection.
Expanding gaming horizons in the UAE
The launch of the UAE Lottery represents a significant step in the country’s evolving entertainment landscape. Beyond the lottery, the UAE is also moving closer to hosting its first-ever casino. Wynn Resorts is now developing a luxury gaming resort on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
The upcoming resort, scheduled to open in 2027, will feature the UAE’s inaugural casino as part of a sprawling complex that includes hotels, dining options, and high-end retail. This development is seen as a milestone in diversifying the UAE’s tourism and entertainment offerings.
While the UAE has historically maintained a conservative stance on gambling, these recent developments signal a shift toward carefully regulated gaming activities. The GCGRA’s involvement ensures that all gaming operations, whether lotteries or casinos, adhere to strict regulatory frameworks designed to protect consumers and promote responsible gaming.
