Aristocrat Leisure has restructured its Pixel United division following the sale of its mobile game development company, Plarium Global.

The restructuring stems from a strategic review of Aristocratโ€™s casual and mid-core gaming assets.

Initiated in May 2024 to enhance shareholder value, the review led to significant changes, including the sale of Plarium to Modern Times Group in a deal valued at up to $820m.

Aristocrat said it has now completed the transaction.

Aristocrat announced that it will retire the Pixel United reporting unit, which generated A$2.64bn in revenue in fiscal year 2024, and replace it with Product Madness.

The new Product Madness division will encompass Aristocratโ€™s core social slots business, Product Madness, along with Big Fish Games.

No new game development

However, Big Fish will shift its focus to maintaining and monetising its existing evergreen titles, with no new game development and significantly reduced investment in its portfolio.

As part of the restructuring, chief strategy officer Superna Kalle will take on executive leadership responsibilities for Product Madness in addition to her current role.

โ€œWith the completion of our strategic review, Aristocrat is well positioned to accelerate our refreshed growth strategy,โ€ said Aristocrat CEO and managing director Trevor Croker.

โ€œWe are deepening management focus and directing investment towards our core strengths in regulated gaming and gaming-themed content, unlocking new and adjacent opportunities in global markets.โ€

Croker emphasised that the restructuring underscores Aristocratโ€™s commitment to shareholder value through strategic decision-making and long-term growth.
