According to a statement from Connecticut Governor Ted Lamont, the newly built studio at Fairfield will eventually house up to 400 Evolution staff members working in technical, production, administrative and information technology positions.

The Stockholm-listed casino giant began operations in the state with a seven-day soft launch beginning Monday (11 July).

The supplier will make its products available to DraftKings and FanDuel customers initially, although only blackjack and roulette tables will be available for a limited number of players during the soft launch period.

Connecticut Governor Ted Lamont: “With the addition of Evolution, we are continuing to provide a modern, technologically advanced gaming experience that provides an elevated user experience for eligible residents and is competitive with our neighbouring states.”

A full launch is expected to commence from 11am local time on Monday 18 July, pending the resolution of any issues which arise during the soft launch.

“With the addition of Evolution, we are continuing to provide a modern, technologically advanced gaming experience that provides an elevated user experience for eligible residents and is competitive with our neighbouring states,” said Governor Lamont.

“Connecticut has proven to be a leader when it comes to the gaming economy going back decades, and this expansion allows those who want to participate to continue doing so, responsibly.”

Last month, Evolution expanded its US presence by launching its live casino offering for operators in West Virginia. Its West Virginia offering is powered by its live studio in Pennsylvania, while the supplier also operates studios in New Jersey and Michigan.

Michelle H. Seagull, commissioner for the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, added: “We are proud of the hard work our Gaming Division has done to ensure Evolution’s facilities and offerings meet the high standards set by our regulations to create a safe and successful opportunity for live dealer games in Connecticut’s online gaming marketplace.

“We encourage anyone who chooses to participate in this new form of online gaming to do so responsibly by monitoring their activity and setting limits for themselves utilising the tools that are required to be available on these platforms.”

Online gaming and sports betting operators first launched in Connecticut in October 2021, with FanDuel, DraftKings and SugarHouse Sportsbook all entering the market via partnerships with tribal gaming operators and the Connecticut Lottery Corp.
