Spree Casino Launches New Daily Community Jackpot Feature

Spree Casino has added a Community Jackpot, an opt-in Spree Coin prize pool that drops every one to three days. Each drop pays half the pool to one randomly selected main winner and splits the other half equally among eligible players who contributed in the six hours before it landed.

The Community Jackpot: How Spree Rewards Its Players

This isn’t like your run-of-the-mill sweepstakes no deposit bonus. The community jackpot at Spree is quite the opposite: it’s a prize pool that can grow significantly, and players qualify by acquiring entries through their Sweeps Coins.

When the jackpot drops, 50% of the pool goes to a single main winner. The other 50% is split equally among the community winners: opted-in players who made at least one contribution in the six hours before the drop. The main winner doesn’t also take a community share, and Spree may cap the number of community winners, picking them at random if too many players qualify.

The 0.10 SC Contribution for Every Entry

Opting into the promotion is simple enough, but it’ll cost you at least 0.10 Sweeps Coins. This is the minimum amount that you’ll contribute to the community jackpot with every eligible entry.

The 0.10 SC is a non-refundable deduction on top of each spin, and Spree lists the Community Jackpot’s RTP at 60%. Every Spree Coin game is eligible, so players don’t need to switch titles to take part.

Now, let’s break down how many entries your Sweeps Coins contribute to.

  • 1 eligible entry equals a 0.10 SC contribution
  • 10 eligible entries equal a 1 SC contribution
  • 100 eligible entries equal a 10 SC contribution

Community Winners Are Still Winners

As a hypothetical example, if the pool reaches 10,000 SC when it drops, the main winner takes 5,000 SC and the other 5,000 SC is shared among the community winners.

With 100 eligible community winners, each would receive 50 SC (5,000 SC ÷ 100). The more players who qualify, the smaller each community share becomes, and Spree may cap the number of community winners.

Opting in Isn’t Automatic

There aren’t any Spree bonus codes that you have to enter so that you can qualify. But opting in also doesn’t occur automatically. Spree requires you to visit the promotions page and indicate that you want to contribute entries (the promotion itself is optional).

You’ll discover the community jackpot banner on the casino’s website. Clicking it will take you to the promotions page where the ‘Opt In’ option will appear before you. You’ll select this option before you submit any entries.

You Can Also Opt Out

You don’t have to contribute entries to the community jackpot continuously. Spree gives you the option to opt out at any time. But remember that Sweeps Coins that you contribute are also non-refundable.

Comparing the Community Jackpot to SpreePotz

SpreePotz is Spree’s four-tier progressive jackpot, with Mini, Minor, Major and XXL prizes paid to individual winners. It runs in both Gold Coin and Spree Coin modes, while the Community Jackpot is Spree Coin only and shares half of every drop.

Why Spree Introduced the Community Jackpot

Like any other promotion, the community jackpot is meant to boost player participation and retention. More people are likely to stick around when multiple promotions (offering a simple qualification process) are available. This simply gives them another reason to keep the action going.

There’s a psychological factor as well: competing with other players. Everyone is vying for that top prize while s participating in a shared prize pool. This makes the experience more community-driven than anything else.

Is the New Community Jackpot Feature Free?

There’s no sugar-coating it: this promotion comes with some risk. To qualify and submit entries, you have to play your Sweeps Coins. And Sweeps Coins, which offer you real value, aren’t easy to come by.

Participating in promotions such as this doesn’t require you to make a purchase. But that means you’ll have access to fewer Sweeps Coins, so you won’t be able to submit as many entries as players who make purchases.

We don’t consider the community jackpot a free Sweeps Coin promotion. All your contributions will cost you something, even if you’re not making any actual purchases.
