Sometimes, a new slot release feels routine while other times, it signals that a casino is paying attention to what players enjoy. SpeedSweeps adding Book of Amduat by BoldPlay falls into the second category, especially for fans of Egyptian-themed slots.
This video slot runs on a 5×3 grid with bonus elements tied to special symbols. It also features a relatively high Return-to-Player (RTP) percentage of 95.05% that encourages longer play sessions and 10 win-lines that give you winning combinations from left to right. Considering all these and more, we will now examine this slot and see why it’s appealing.

What You First Notice When You Start Playing Book of Amduat
From the moment you load this slot title on SpeedSweeps Casino, you’ll discover that it’s set deep inside an ancient Egyptian tomb. The backdrop shows dim torchlight on stone walls covered in hieroglyphs and the reels sit in a golden frame that looks like it’s from a museum. As for the symbols, you’ll find carved card ranks (A, K, J, Q and 10) as well as Anubis, Cleopatra, the ankh and Pharaoh. All of these symbols appear on a classic 5×3 layout with 10 winlines and a relatively high 95.05% RTP.
More About the Base Game
While continuing our exploration of Book of Amduat in this SpeedSweeps Casino review, we discovered that there are the base game and the bonus rounds. In the base game, the gameplay is as simple as you’d expect, allowing you to land winning combinations when 3 or more matching symbols appear on active winlines from left to right. Depending on the symbols that appear, your returns may vary; card symbols offer lower returns while the Egyptian-themed ones offer higher multipliers.
Special Features and Bonus Elements You’ll Find
Beyond the base game, there are several unique mechanics packed into this slot that can change how the rounds play out. Some of these special features are as follows:
- Scratch game: This feature takes you away from the reels into a 6×3 scratch card board. Here, instead of spinning the reels, you get to scratch the board and reveal matching symbols for a share in the game’s prize pool.
- Boldplay spins: Boldplay allows you to activate this bonus feature when you land 4-7 consecutive winning combinations. Depending on how many wins you hit in a row, you get between 12 and 25 bonus spins.
- Boldplay free spins: This is quite different from the “Boldplay spins” in that this one is dependent on the wild Book symbol appearing on the grid. If you land 3 or more Book of Amduat symbols, it triggers 10 free spins. But before the bonus game begins, the Egyptian King selects a random symbol to expand on the reels and help you form more winning combinations during the free spins. In the bonus game too, you can reactivate more free spins if 3 or more Scatter symbols appear.

- Boldplay jackpot: While playing in the base or bonus round, covering the whole reel with the highest paying symbol can unlock the game’s biggest possible multiplier of 5,000x.
- Double winnings: After any win, you can play in this mode for a chance to double your winnings. All you have to do here is to correctly guess the symbol or suit of a hidden card. You can play this mode up to 5 times at a go but it stops if you make an incorrect guess.
