Robinhoodâs increasingly popular Predictions Market Hub offers opportunities to speculate on outcomes of some of the worldâs biggest events. And in todayâs Robinhood Prediction Markets review, weâre going to unpack how it works, and what itâs all about.
Top Robinhood Alternative for October
In a nutshell, the new Hub, which was first added to Robinhoodâs app in March 2025, allows folk like us to buy and sell outcome-based contracts tied to real world sports, politics, economics and cultural events. But whatâs it like to use? Are there any bonus offers or loyalty rewards up for grabs? And whatâs Robinhoodâs rep like?

Robinhoodâs Prediction Markets Hub â What to Expect
Before we jump into how it all works, letâs clear up a major misconception right out the gate: Robinhood isn’t a betting app, and this isn’t gambling. Instead of placing sports bets or wagering against a house, you are trading financial contracts based on real-world outcomes. Think of it more like a fast-paced futures market rather than a sportsbook.
Most of us already know Robinhood as the app that changed the game for commission-free stocks, ETFs, and crypto. Adding
Robinhood event contracts
to the mix is just their latest move, letting you trade on macro events right alongside your regular investment portfolio.
How It Actually Works
The setup inside the app is incredibly intuitive. Instead of dealing with confusing betting lines, you are simply buying and selling shares on specific questions. It feels exactly like trading stocks, but instead of tracking a company’s profits, you are tracking the news.
Every single market on the hub uses a simple âYesâ or âNoâ format:
If you’re right:
The contract settles at a flat $1.00.
If you’re wrong:
The contract expires at $0.00.
While testing out the feature, I found that contract prices constantly shift between $0.01 and $0.99. That price tag is essentially a live percentage showing what the trading community thinks will happen.
For example, if you see a contract asking “Will Kansas City win this Sunday?” trading at $0.70, it means that Robinhood users see a 70% chance of that happening. If they do win, every “Yes” contract you hold instantly jumps to $1.00, and you walk away with the difference as profit.

Prediction Markets Offered â Sports, Politics, Economics and More
At the time of writing, our Robinhood Prediction Markets review found that you can trade âYesâ or âNoâ contracts across all sorts of exciting markets on Robinhoodâs app. There are more than 100 different types of contracts for the taking – and weâre totally here for it.
Hereâs what you guys can expect:
Sports Prediction Opportunities
There might not be any run of the mill sports betting at Robinhood, but the
sports prediction markets
section of their Prediction Hub sure comes pretty close, allowing you to trade contracts on all sorts of sports events outcomes, including the likes of:
Football outcomes
Pro basketball games and championships
College football and basketball
Other major events
Although naturally, it is important to note that the
prediction markets
offered will vary from one state to the next, depending on local rules.
As our Robinhood Prediction Markets review pointed out previously, buyers and sellers set the prices here. For example, perhaps youâll see a âYesâ contract on whether Patrick Mahomes will throw more than three touchdown passes in the Chiefsâ next game, up at $0.60, against a âNoâ contract trading at $0.40.
Buy into a position, and you can adjust or exit said position right up until âfinal settlementâ, which usually occurs when the event ends. Although in more volatile markets, real time moves are not unknown. For example, letâs say you buy a â49ers to winâ contract, and then Christian McCaffrey breaks off a 60-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter â this would enable you to sell before the final whistle, for obvious reasons.
Politics and Economics Based âYesâ and âNoâ Trading
In eligible US states, Robinhoodâs Prediction Hub features “Yes” and “No” trading on politics and economics, mirroring standard sports contract mechanics. Users can trade on election and public policy outcome contracts, like potential Congress control, major legislation outcomes, or whether Donald Trump will secure another term, alongside macro-economic indicator contracts tracking inflation data or Fed interest rate bounds.
To back these markets, Robinhood uses multiple regulated execution venues, including KalshiEX LLC, ForecastEx LLC, and their internal affiliate exchange, Rothera (co-managed with Susquehanna). This setup dynamically routes orders to secure optimal liquidity and pricing across all contracts advertised. The lobby rotates regularly to introduce new geopolitical and global economic event contracts regarding international trade deals and treaties.
While noteworthy submarkets you might potentially find up for grabs at times may include the likes of:
Election and public policy outcome contracts
â such as potential Congress control and major legislation outcomes.
Macro-economic indicator contracts
â including interest rate bounds and inflation data.
Geopolitical and global economic event contracts
â regarding international trade deals, treaties and so on.
Cultural Event Predictions and Global Event Predictions
The cultural subcategory is fully live and expanding rapidly, featuring pop culture outcomes alongside high-profile international tournaments like the 2026 World Cup.
One thingâs for sure: the mechanics will be the same â âYesâ and âNoâ contracts will be sold, and user expectations and market trends will dictate prices, with wins settling at $1 and losses falling to $0.
We were impressed by the potential breadth of this new category, which weâre hopeful will make for a fun, tongue in cheek departure from some of the other, slightly drier markets currently offered.
Is Robinhood Legal and Legit?
Yes, Robinhood operates a fully legal, CFTC-regulated event contract platform through its own derivatives wing, Robinhood Derivatives, LLC, alongside a joint venture with Susquehanna International Group called Rothera, which began self-certifying its own contracts in May 2026 and has been taking on real trading volume, including World Cup markets, since June.
The platform is open to eligible traders across most of the US, though localized restrictions apply in some states for certain sports contracts, so it’s worth checking real-time eligibility via the in-app geolocation system before registering.
It secures user portfolios with bank-grade TLS encryption and mandatory MFA, backed by an established fintech framework active since 2013. Its prediction wing has scaled fast: Robinhood traded over 12 billion event contracts across all of 2025, then topped that in a single quarter, with Q2 2026 alone hitting a record 13.6 billion, over 10x its year-earlier volume. Combined with Q1 and July, the platform has already pushed past 28 billion contracts traded in 2026, making it one of the largest prediction exchange pipelines in the country.
A Quick Review of Robinhoodâs Predictions Market Website
Robinhood runs a nicely put together website packed full of essential info about how their Predictions Hub works. But the Hub itself is an app only, so you wonât be able to buy or sell any contracts on there.
As youâd expect, contracts trading at Robinhood is explained in great detail on the site, making it an excellent resource for first timers.
If thatâs you, weâre confident youâll find the âSupportâ tab, which offers searchable FAQs and cleverly categorized âhow toâ guides, particularly useful. Although to be fair, the main article on event contracts is a bit on the wordy side, so make sure you have your reading glasses ready.
Our Robinhood App Review â Where the Action Happens
Before joining Robinhood to trade sports, politics, or economics event contracts, you’ll need to access the platform on iOS, Android, or desktop web, then set up a Robinhood Derivatives account, since the Predictions Hub is an offshoot of the standard investing app rather than a standalone product.
Existing users get instant access, and new users can be up and running in minutes. The event contracts page is easy to navigate, with simple “Yes” versus “No” pricing and a $1/$0 settlement rule.
Charting tools are limited for advanced traders, and state-by-state rules mean some contracts, like sports event contracts, aren’t available everywhere. Trades route across CFTC-regulated partners including KalshiEX, ForecastEX, and Robinhood’s own co-owned Rothera Exchange for better liquidity and pricing.
We also found the UI to be clean, the one-tap buttons work well, and we especially liked the “My Positions” tab, a single dashboard for tracking all your active contracts.

Promotions and Special Offers â Our Findings
Sadly, we didn’t run into any contract-oriented welcome bonuses when writing our Robinhood Prediction Markets review. Robinhood just isn’t a betting site, and its Prediction Markets Hub is really a secondary service to the core brokerage business, so the promos on offer here are geared toward brokerage account holders generally, not those of us trading sports or cultural event positions.
At the time of writing, this is a welcome bonus of $5 to $200 in “gift stock credits” on approval of a brokerage account, plus a refer-a-friend program offering the same, though we found neither is usable on prediction markets.
There’s no VIP or loyalty program either, and the $5-a-month “Gold” subscription is built around analytics and trading perks rather than traditional bonuses.
Still, with more than 12 billion event contracts traded across 2025 alone, and plenty of ongoing buzz around Robinhood’s prediction market coverage, we’d expect the bonus lineup to get a refresh before long, and hopefully with more of an event-contracts lean.
Payment Options Offered by Robinhoodâs Contracts Hub
Our Robinhood Prediction Markets review found that the brandâs contracts Hub is essentially an offshoot of its Derivatives app, right? And in turn, we also found that you canât deposit directly into the Hub â youâll need to fund your Robinhood investment account first using either:
ACH Bank Transfer.
Debit card.
Wire transfer.
Existing customers among you will no doubt already be aware that ACH bank deposits can sometimes take up to five business days with Robinhood. But we found that, so long as youâre intending to use your funds for taking out prediction contracts, an âInstant Depositâ feature is up for grabs which will allow you to start trading right away. Although
some
more volatile event contracts wonât always qualify for this, so watch out.
As for withdrawals, our Robinhood Prediction Markets review found that any winnings will, unsurprisingly, automatically be credited to your investing account â usually within one to two business days of the associated contractâs resolution. From there, you can cash out directly to your bank account within the brandâs standard timeframe of one to three business days. But how do fees work?
Contract Related Fees to Consider
One important point to note is that Robinhood uses a dynamic pricing structure where commission fees scale dynamically based on the contract price and order size. Standard accounts are charged a formula of 10% Ă Contract Price Ă (1 â Price) per contract, while Robinhood Gold members get a 50%
Robinhood fee discount (paying 5% based on the same formula), providing significant savings.
Customer Support Choices If You Need a Hand
When you participate in trading, it can sometimes raise questions. The good news is that Robinhoodâs support structure ensures you aren’t left in the dark. Because event contracts are integrated directly into the core Robinhood app, you have access to the same 24/7 support used by millions of brokerage and crypto traders.
Whether youâre dealing with a technical glitch during an event’s resolution or have a specific question about your buying power, Robinhood provides several reliable avenues to get the help you need. Below, weâve provided a few examples of the different support channels, as well as what we found during our testing.

During our tests, Robinhood typically pinged us back within just a couple of minutes â although we did have to wait more than an hour on one occasion.

Email is a solid choice if your query isnât so urgent â the team got back to us within about 3-4 hours whenever we contact them.
Telephone support
Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm ET
The brandâs telephone hotline is geared mainly toward brokerage queries, but still good to have as an alternative method of getting fast answers.
We also liked the fact that thereâs a convenient callback request option available.

Our Robinhood Prediction Markets review found you can also reach out to the brandâs official support account on X (formerly known as Twitter), or send a DM via their Facebook page

Robinhood’s Prediction Markets Hub isn’t perfect â there are no contract-specific bonuses, and the app-only design with limited analytics won’t suit everybody. The app itself is a genuine pleasure to use: the “Yes” versus “No” structure is easy to grasp as a beginner, and the “My Positions” tab makes tracking multiple trades simple even for more experienced traders. You can get started in minutes by clicking any of our banner links on this page.
Robinhood Prediction Markets Review FAQ
No. Robinhood Prediction Markets are legally classified as financial derivatives trading, not gambling. All trades are intelligently routed across multiple regulated execution venuesâincluding KalshiEX LLC, ForecastEx LLC, and their affiliate Rothera exchangeâensuring optimal liquidity and pricing under the oversight of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This federal oversight ensures transparent settlement and consumer protection that offshore sportsbooks lack.
The price of a contract (between $0.01 and $0.99) is determined entirely by market supply and demand. It functions as a real-time probability percentage. For example, a contract trading at $0.65 means that the market believes thereâs a 65% chance of that event happening. If the prediction is correct, the contract settles at a fixed $1.00.
While Robinhood is available in most of the US, availability is subject to state-level regulations. Currently, users in Maryland are restricted from the Prediction Markets Hub and Nevada residents can’t open new sports event contracts. Additionally, certain states may block specific categories.
Robinhood uses a dynamic pricing structure where commission fees scale based on the contract price and order size, following the formula 10% Ă Contract Price Ă (1 â Price) per contract for standard accounts. There’s no fixed cap, since the fee rises with order size, though each contract’s fee rounds up to the nearest cent. Active Robinhood Gold members pay half that rate. There are generally no hidden fees for withdrawals or account maintenance.
Yes. Because Robinhood operates as a secondary market exchange, you donât have to wait for “final settlement”. You can sell your “Yes” or “No” contracts at any time to other traders. This allows you to lock in profits if the eventâs probability increases or cut losses if the situation shifts before the event concludes.
