Sportradar has recruited Andrew Bimson, former global head of business marketing and operations at Bloomberg, as its chief operating officer (COO) for North America.
The newly created role will see Bimson take responsibility for and oversee the growth of Sportradar’s three core business areas; betting and gaming, sports entertainment and marketing services.
Bimson will report into Sportradar’s North America CEO Arne Rees.
Bimson has worked with several Fortune 500 companies and global brands throughout his career, including the last decade at Bloomberg in a number of senior management roles, most recently as global head of business marketing operations & analytics.
Rees said of the appointment: “Andrew joins Sportradar at an important time as the North America market is primed for significant growth and remains a key focus of Sportradar’s overall strategic plan.
“His role in partnering with our leaders to articulate this vision, align teams around it, and create meaningful KPIs to measure our progress will be critically important. I have no doubt his work will touch all our North America teams and I look forward to him getting to know our talent.”

Sportradar’s most recently published financial results, covering Q3 2021, showed the business generated €136.8m in revenue during the quarter, up 29.9% year-on-year.
At the time of publication, Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl said the US has become the primary area of focus for strategic growth at the company as it looks to significantly increase an overall revenue contribution of just 7% from the country.
