Pontus will join co-founder and managing director of iGaming NEXT, Pierre Lindh, to talk in detail about Betsson’s latest quarterly report, which will be released tomorrow morning, and the reversal of the decision to find a replacement CEO.

Betsson originally announced that Lindwall would resign as chief executive in September, saying he had completed his goals in the role.

After a record quarter for Betsson in Q2 2021, during which the business brought in SEK1.53bn in revenue and posted net profit of SEK422.5m, Betsson said Lindwall had completed the business’ recovery programme which he was appointed to implement in 2017 as a key part of his second stretch as chief executive.

Today, Betsson said that based on its short- and medium-term goals, including the mitigation of decisions taken in the Dutch market and the company’s US entry, its newly elected Board of Directors had decided to revoke the decision to replace Lindwall as CEO.

“We have had several discussions with Betsson’s main stakeholders, the Betsson management team, Betsson employees, as well as many of the largest shareholders. Based on those discussions the current Board does not believe that it would be good to change leadership now,” said chairman of Betsson’s Board, Johan Lundberg.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the new episode of the iGaming NEXT podcast dropping tomorrow – where you can hear all about this landmark decision from the man himself! [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
