North Star Network has sealed the acquisition of MrFixitsTips.co.uk (MFT) for an undisclosed sum.

The French affiliate said the addition of the brand to its sports media portfolio would work to increase its footprint in the UK market.

MFT was founded in 2010 and offers betting advice and tips to consumers.

Mr Fixit, real name Paul Jain, was the resident football tipster at The Daily Record, Scotland’s most read newspaper, for more than 20 years until he passed away in 2020.

The acquisition of the football tipping site marks North Star’s second transaction of 2024 following the seven-figure purchase of SportsMole.co.uk in February.

The affiliate’s other brands include Top Mercator, Afrik-Foot, Trivela, Premier League Basil and Vringe.

“I want to thank the team at MrFixitsTips for their trust,” said North Star co-founder Julien Josset.

“MrFixitsTips.co.uk is one of the most credible tipster services in the UK. Working closely with the MFT team and our internal experts, we aim to provide more value to the existing community.”

An MFT spokesperson added: “We’re thrilled to have worked with North Star Network to secure an ambitious future for MFT.

“They have demonstrated great vision for the site and shown a tremendous professionalism in our dealings with them.

“We are 100% confident that they are perfectly placed to take the operation to the next level.”
