Glitnor Group has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Mel Camilleri-Bland as chief operating officer (COO).

Camilleri-Bland has notable iGaming industry experience, most recently as group director of compliance for BetVictor.

She spent seven years with Gibraltar-based BVGroup after joining the operator in 2017 as head of B2B brands.

Prior to that, she spent nearly four years with William Hill, initially as head of service delivery before being promoted to director of customer operations.

Camilleri-Bland will now be responsible for operations across Glitnor’s B2C division, LCKY Group, which includes the brands LuckyCasino and HappyCasino.

Her appointment follows the departure of outgoing Glitnor COO Cameron Brown, who spent three years with the company while based in Malta.

Camilleri-Bland said Glitnor had taken giant strides forward as a business over the last few years.

“Having spent over a decade-and-a-half in the iGaming industry working in various management, consultancy and customer service roles across multiple continents, I’m delighted to now be able to utilise my expertise on the B2C side of Glitnor Group,” she added.

“The team we have here is already amazing and I sincerely hope that the skills and industry know-how that I’ve accumulated over the past 15 years can add another dimension to that as we look to take things to a whole new level in 2024 and beyond.”

David Schwieler, head of brands and business at Glitnor Group, said Camilleri-Bland should serve as the perfect successor to outgoing COO Brown.

“Having helped numerous companies around the world transform their customer experience and improve their ROI, Mel arrives at Glitnor Group with a wealth of industry experience and all the tools required to take the B2C side of our business to the next level,” said Schwieler.

“We’re really looking forward to having her on board and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together as we continue to grow.”

Glitnor Group is under new leadership this year following the appointment of former GiG head Richard Brown as CEO. He took charge on 1 January 2024.
